Ms. Dempster St.

Dempster Street connects some of the most interesting people, place and things in Illinois. This blog focuses on the both the hyperlocal and global issues and events of potential interest to my friends and neighbors. I tweet at @Ms_Dempster_St. When a tweet isn't enough, I post here and feature the posts of others. -- Karen Kring

DEMPSTER STREET

I believe streets are meant to connect us, not separate us.

This blog's title is a nod to my mom who has lived most of her life a half block from Dempster St., in Chicago's northern suburbs.

These days when people ask me where I'm from, I tell them Dempster St. I'm back and forth on it all the time with stops at Kaufman's in Skokie, my doctor's office in Park Ridge or any one of the numerous Starbucks between Lake Michigan and Morton Grove.

For fun and money, I work as a media strategist, photographer and journalist. For more about that, check out LinkedIn and my consultancy's website.
